LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT HOMESTUCK

WOAH HOMESTUCK.

So yeah, I, uh. I finally found the time. How, you ask?

The "Let's read Homestuck" series on youtube is my little secret, actually.

For people that have already seen/read Homestuck: (Mar/Thal/Probably some more people?)

[Y'see, all the characters have great voice actors and even the narrator for the whole thing is awesome and it all just adds that extra feel to the adventure- something which I don't think I actually got from simply looking at the pages and reading the text. Each page is just simply fitted together so it's more like an animation than a game/interactive comic. Of course, this means that I can't actually move around in the few bits of the adventure that allow you to explore. I have to watch the exploration of the guy recording the whole thing, but he covers just about everything and leaves nothing unexplored.
Hell if I don't get confused sometimes though. Like what the connection is between everyone's parents. I'm sure it'll all make sense soon.]

For people that haven't read/seen Homestuck:

GO HAVE A LOOK AT HOMESTUCK.
It gets a lot funnier and cooler after the first few acts, trust me. Not that it isn't cool straight away, I'm just saying; the plot thickens, as usual, and tends to be frigging amazing by act two or so.
The swearing gets progressively abundant as the adventure goes on, but most of it is in good taste. Most of it.

I'm currently up to Act 5, but I think the "Let's Read" series ends at the last bit of Act 5 anyway, so I might have to read the last couple of acts myself.

Yeah. So, in case no-one who knows what Homestuck is actually sees this, uh, don't worry. Moving on.

I'M GLAD YOU LIKED IT KAL :D Even if it's so gorram late XD

I hope you'll enjoy the last bit as much as you enjoyed this one.

Skyril! *huuuuuuuuugs* Have to try and catch you on chat sometime. Maybe I'm just getting too lazy with all these sleep-ins :L
Also glad you liked it! Also glad you didn't try and kill me for killing you >.<

I loved those lines as I wrote them. Grinning like an idiot, I was...

I'll try to publish it, but to be honest, the fact that it has taken so long has stretched the storyline really out of proportion and certain parts of the story haven't even been followed up yet- like why it's suddenly got a lot more detailed in the dream than it was at the beginning. And eh, 15k+ words doesn't really work for a short story, but isn't long enough for a novel or anything XD Regardless of good content.

Rosella! Thankyou too *hugs*

And yes! Good ol' Mr Savage. He does indeed cosplay, supposedly heaps, and he's a huge hoarder and more than just the mythbuster everyone sees him as. I was talking to a friend the other day and they explained  that episode as well. I think I'll use that line...

Heaps happy for the holidays and just generally enjoying the laid-back life it gives.

Octa! *hugs too* Thanks heaps :D

I really appreciate the compliments. And I can't wait for the next part, too. When I get around to writing it...

Just generally guys, thanks a whole heap. Comments are always nice to read and brighten up any day. You're all fantastic and awesome.

Wait, what? You thought I would put something else in this post? Nope. I'm going to go get something to eat and then probably watch some Humphrey Bogart. See you round :P

EDIT: HOLY CRAP THIS IS POST #95

SOMEONE REMIND ME THAT POST No.100 IS SOON.

EDIT EDIT:

Wait no. This is only post #87. False alarm, folks. Sorry. It was counting drafts as well. Still, pretty damned close.

  1. First comment! Woo! :D

I am stuck for reading material at the moment (I have exhausted the unread books in my extensive bookshelves - and online books/other things), so I think I'll go check it out. It sound good. Humorous, the way you put it, and interesting. Just finished a deathly creepy Jack the Ripper book, and I think its high time for a few laughs. :P

I WILL count down to the 100th post. I will. Promise.

On a completely different thought, I was a bit freaked out the other day, because I saw a thing about a thing on the internet, and it said that Adam Savage got impaled by a piece of PVC in an explosion in the workshop and he had died. Then a found out it was a hoax. Hate hoaxes :'(
But he's a nice guy. I saw some of his cosplays (hes very good!) and I started watching the podcasts, as per your suggestion. I haven't got very far, though. Too much sleeping in and essays during the holidays :P

Anyway, this comment has gone a little bit longer than anticipated. :P

Well then, thank you for posting, Hellboy, and I hope to catch you on the chat sometime! ~hugs~ Thanks!

    THE THING THAT MATTERS IS

    YOU'RE A HOMESTUCK

    THERE'S NO GOING BACK NOW

    HEEEEELLLLLLLLL YEEEEEESSSSSSSS

    Okay screaming over

I've never actually watched any of the Let's Reads :O I just find the experience of actually reading the comic to be most enjoyable, because it's more independent and you can have your own headcanons for the voices and stuff. But from the little clips I've seen of Let's Reads, that seems like a really good way to experience the comic too! Once you catch up on the Let's Read and read the rest of the comic, I strongly suggest going back and just reading the beginning of the comic, if you have time! Not that you have to, of course. Maybe just play the flash games yourself, because those are great.

Who are your favorite characters? :O

Acts 1-4 are my favorites, but the entire god damn thing is great. You actually chose a really great time to get into Homestuck, because it's on a really long hiatus right now while the creator works on the upcoming Homestuck game, as well as the remainder of the comic and the big final flash. So you'll have loads of time to catch up before the ending of the comic.

And the Homestuck fandom is amazing. There are some dumb people like in every fandom, but there are also so many amazing artists and voice actors and cosplayers it's really great to see the things this fandom can do

    Welcome to Homestuck, HB

    There's no escape

  6. Okay so not sure if this comment will work, I can't sign in right now.

    Octa here btw.

I just came back to let you know that I've finally gotten into Homestuck properly. I've just finished Act 2 and am considering starting Act 3 but it is 4:30 am and I need sleep. I've been reading Homestuck for 6 hours straight at least. Got through the first two acts in one sitting.

Anyway I now fully appreciate the awesomeness of it :D
